“The only hard part about this recipe is finding Danish Dessert. It should be near the Jello and tapioca pudding mixes, or check out the Junket website. One year I had to have it “imported” from Utah! Danish Dessert brings back fond memories of midnight snacks in college. The roommates could finish off a double batch, with snickerdoodles, while cramming for an exam or typing a term paper.”
Strawberry Pie 1 Pint box fresh strawberries, stemmed and cleaned 1 box Danish Dessert, strawberry flavor 8” Cookie crumb crust RediWhip whipped cream |
Prepare pie crust with 1 c. graham cracker crumbs, 3 T each sugar and melted butter, or try vanilla wafer crumbs, or crumbs from the cookie jar! Mix, press into pie plate, bake at 375 o 8 minutes. A regular baked pie crust is good too. Arrange the strawberries stem side down, then pour the cooked, slightly cooled Danish Dessert over all. Chill several hours. Serve with whipped cream.
~ I like this strawberry pie mainly for the graham cracker crust. Big strawberries are pretty, but hard to eat! Better to slice them into pretty hearts I say.
